Cellulite city

Cellulite has to be the scurvy of the millennium for women worldwide. If only there was a magic `something` that would make it all go away. Wishful thinking? Yeah, right.

Cellulite. It`s the one thing that will make any woman feel completely awful about herself almost instantaneously. But what is cellulite? (Besides the most instant ego deflator in the universe.)

Background basics
The term `cellulite` was actually something coined by French doctors. They believed it to be a form of fat accumulating in women, mainly causing the thighs, the buttocks, the upper arms and the stomach to look dimpled and lumpy. There is no exact known cause for cellulite, but there are some ideas as to why it occurs. Many beauty experts believe that cellulite is actually an accumulation of waste products in the body`s tissues, creating various pockets of water, fat and impurities. There is also a belief that cellulite is simply ordinary fat pulled downwards by gravity.

But there are also a lot of other factors involved. Some researchers from Europe seem to go on the idea that constipation, a poor lymphatic system, poor circulation and a weak functioning of the kidneys and liver are all common in women prone to cellulite formation. It also seems feasible that hormones play a role in this whole saga, as many women who start to approach menopause battle with it.

Help`s at hand
There are some ways of trying to prevent cellulite from forming, as well as methods of treating cellulite. The best way is to make sure that you eat a diet rich in raw foods. Recommended foods include celery, since it helps to remove excess fluid from the body, cucumbers, to make the kidneys eliminate more waste products, and seaweed (kelp), as it gets fats moving and promotes smooth skin. Many beauty therapists also advocate skin-brushing. This technique claims to remove toxic wastes directly through the skin, and stimulate the lymphatic system. There are also commercial cellulite creams available to the general `hail damaged` public, but these creams are often extremely costly, and the general opinion of the majority of health and beauty experts, is that they are not actually very effective in removing the cellulite from the body.

Well what can we say? The bottom line (excuse the pun) is that the earlier you start to look after your weight and your body, the less likely you are to have the battle of the bulge and consequently the little dimples on those thighs.
